4 Irish Acts Announced for The Great Escape 2025

The Great Escape Festival in Brighton is happening next May, and Music From Ireland is thrilled to announce the first four Irish acts confirmed to perform in 2025. This year’s lineup so far includes: Ellie O'Neill, Cliffords, Allie Sherlock, and Curtisy. More artists are yet to be announced, but for now, let’s get to know the acts bringing some of the best emerging Irish talent to Brighton this spring:

Allie Sherlock

Allie Sherlock, a 19-year-old pop / singer-songwriter from Cork, Ireland, first gained attention busking on the bustling streets of Cork and Dublin. Her distinctive voice and captivating presence have earned her a huge global fanbase, with over 14.5 million followers across social media platforms.

Allie has previously supported acts like OneRepublic and Gavin James among others. In Autumn 2025 Allie began releasing her own original songs, and playing her own headline shows in Ireland.

Ellie O'Neill

Ellie O’Neill is a songwriter, vocalist and recording artist from Ireland. Her work is tender, rich and diverse, and explores intimacy, loss, friendship and queerness. She has opened for artists like Adrianne Lenker, and is currently working on her debut album, while performing around Ireland and further afield. At the moment she is inspired by the poems of Minnie Bruce Pratt, and interested in things like sea swimming, and laughing. You can now listen to Ellie O’Neill’s beautiful new track 'Bohemia’ on Bandcamp.

CURTISY

Curtisy is a name on the tip of the tongue of every rap fan in Dublin. The Tallaght based rapper made his start on SoundCloud during lockdown in 2020 and quickly gained a dedicated listenership. With inspirations from the likes of Wiki and Earl Sweatshirt, he has carved a niche for himself as an expropriator of vibrant and lush abstract hiphop, with live shows carrying a DIY punk charisma and energy.

Curtisy is quickly making his way as one of the top artists of a new wave in Irish hip hop, collaborating with other great Irish rappers like Ahmed, with Love, TXPE_EATER, Rory Sweeney, hikii. Curtisy performed at the Artists Against Homelessness in aid of Focus Ireland back in 2022 at the Olympia Theatre, Dublin, and has played at festivals like Otherside and Electric Picnic. He also joined Alex Gough on tour, playing his London debut supporting Kean Kavanagh at The Courtyard Theatre.

Cliffords

Meet Cliffords, the indie-rock five-piece band straight out of Cork's lively music scene, and steadily making their mark with their magnetic energy on stage, and at times, reminiscent of Florence And The Machine. Composed of Iona, Gavin, Harry, Dan, and Locon, The Cliffords have carved a distinct niche since their debut in 2022, drawing inspiration from influences like Wolf Alice and NewDad, while adding a flavor uniquely their own. Known for their compelling live shows, The Cliffords have quickly earned a reputation as one of Cork’s most exciting new bands to watch. Their performance at Ireland Music Week 2024 was met with high acclaim, and with upcoming festival spots at Eurosonic , The Great Escape, and beyond in 2025, The Cliffords are poised for a breakout year.
